Embracing the Journey: Creating a Relationship with Him

As we embark on our journey with Christ, it's crucial that we actively engage in communication with Him. Just as the disciples sought guidance from Jesus on prayer, we, too, must recognize the significance of our role in connecting with God. In Matthew 6, Jesus provides us with a blueprint for prayer, underscoring the importance of worship, honoring God, seeking daily forgiveness, and receiving His Word, which is brought to life and communicated through revelation (Rhema).

In the profound teachings of John chapters 14-16, Jesus offers us reassurance that He will never abandon us. He promises that we will perform even greater works, underscores the preparation of a place for us, stresses the necessity of abiding in Him, highlights the importance of loving one another, assures us of the Holy Spirit's guidance, and ultimately grants us peace in the midst of trials. Delving into these chapters allows us to fully comprehend the depth of the Father's love and His longing to communicate and dwell in a close relationship with us.

God yearns for a personal, intimate relationship with you. He longs to communicate with you daily and shows deep concern for the details of your life. However, it's crucial to create an environment where God can dwell. There are protocols in His kingdom, and God cannot lie or act against His Word. Therefore, it's essential to seek your daily instructions from Him through reading His Word and engaging in prayer or communication. He has bestowed His Spirit upon us for this very purpose: to guide and comfort us in our journey with Him.

To get started on communicating with God, consider these simple steps:

1. Read His Word; dive into Scripture.

2. Pray His Word; incorporate His promises and teachings into your prayers.

3. Engage in praise and worship through songs and words of adoration (refer to the book of Psalms).

4. Tune your ears to hear His voice; be attentive and discerning.

5. Keep a journal; write down your encounters and revelations.

These are just a few foundational practices to establish a relationship with God. Above all, talk to Him because He always listens. Ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit and make it a habit to pray in the Spirit every day. Doing so will open your understanding of the Word and enhance your ability to hear His voice. Trust me, God does not lie and eagerly awaits your communication. The joy and fulfillment that come from this relationship are beyond measure, and they will inspire and uplift you in ways you can't imagine.
